WHO IS EKNO?
The Estonian Deaf Youth Organization (EKNO) was established in 2005. EKNO represents people with hearing impairments. The organization protects their interests and organizes various events and trainings. EKNO develops young people’s knowledge and broadens their horizons.
The Estonian Deaf Youth Organization (EKNO) represents, involves, and supports by creating opportunities for cooperation and development among young deaf people. EKNO is an organization with a unique and active membership. EKNO takes into account the voice of every young deaf person — it is especially important to consider and listen to the opinions of young people, and decisions are made together with young deaf individuals.
GOALS
DEAF EDUCATION
In order to educate others, one must first educate oneself. Young deaf people must be able to acquire an education without obstacles.
INTEGRATION
EKNO works in effective cooperation with both internal and external organizations and participates in activities that influence the social life and policy-making of young deaf people at both the national and local government levels.
DEAF ECONOMY
EKNO is a youth deaf organization that sets a supportive example for all deaf people by encouraging their entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation.
